The Squirrel Buster® Classic squirrel-proof bird feeder is our tallest model, measuring 32” high from base to hanger loop, and has a 2.4 lbs seed capacity. It features 4 feeding ports, which accommodate both clinging and perching birds. It has a twin– the Squirrel Buster® Finch, which has the same handsome proportions but is designed to be used with tiny Nyjer® seeds only.

TRULY SQUIRREL PROOF™: Openings in the shroud align with the feeding ports, providing birds access to the food. When a squirrel climbs onto the feeder, its weight automatically forces the shroud down, closing access to the ports. Squirrels and some large birds are foiled but not harmed in any way.

CHEW PROOF: All feeder parts exposed to squirrels are made with chew proof materials.

DETACHABLE COMPONENT SYSTEM™: Squirrel Buster® squirrel-proof bird feeders are designed to be dismantled by hand into individual components without the use of tools. This allows for easy cleaning and maintenance.

SEED VENTILATION SYSTEM™: Transparent seed tubes trap solar energy. Conventional seed tube designs block the escape of the heated air. Brome's patented Seed Tube Ventilation™ permits humidity and hot air to escape through vents at the top of the feeder and replaces it with fresh air. Bird food remains fresher, attracting more wild birds.

UV RESISTANT: All components are UV resistant.

FOR BOTH PERCHING & CLINGING BIRDS: The seed ports have perches for perching birds and the wire shroud provides a surface area for clinging birds. This increases your bird traffic.

PAYS FOR ITSELF IN SAVED SEED™: Squirrels can no longer steal your wild bird seed. Over a short period of time this adds up to substantial savings that will pay for the purchase of your feeder.

Where to locate your feeder

Position your feeder wherever you like to get great close-up views of your favorite birds. Hang it over a window, in a tree, on a deck, from a fence, in your garden, on the side of your house, from a rain trough or over sliding doors. Use brackets, extension hooks and tree hooks to hang your feeder at the 18-inch (47 cm) recommended clearance.

Need for clearance

Remember it’s a squirrel’s weight that triggers the closing mechanism. If a squirrel can reach over from a nearby foothold and avoid placing its weight on the feeder, it can access the birdseed. To overcome this problem, allow for at least 18 in./47 cm of clearance around the feeder. This will force the squirrel to climb onto the feeder and trigger the closing mechanism

I liked it but after one season plastic insert started to get many holes. Not where feeding ports are but at different locations. Not sure if it is wood peckers or squirrels. Show more

I loved this in the beginning, the squirrels would jump on it and the cage would fall down so they couldn't get the seed. They'd jump off and the cage would go back up. But after 1.5 years, the cage m...Show more

The birds can use it, the chipmunks have figured it out, but the squirrels cannot. It's pricy for a bird feeder, and the squirrels get super mad - we had one that was swinging on it WWE style, and he ...Show more

You get what you pay for. I bought a cheaper look-a-like and it fell apart. This is the quality I am used to. It’s easy to fill and holds a lot of seed.Show more
